How is the disease transmitted?
Most often, from moms concerned about the health of their baby, one can hear a question about how streptodermia is transmitted in children and whether the infection is contagious.
Streptodermia is a contagious disease (the main one from transmission is the contact one). So, this can happen when:
- direct contact with an infected child;
- The use of common objects of everyday life, which had previously been in the hands of the patient.
That is why often outbreaks of this disease are observed in various children's groups. Adults, in turn, become infected from sick children.
How is streptoderma?
The incubation period lasts 7 days, after which the disease quickly begins to progress. On the skin integument pink spots of rounded shape begin to appear, most of them having irregular contours.
So, if the formations are on the surface of the skin, after their healing there is no pigmentation, scarring. If the rash is located deep, the growth layer of the skin is damaged, so the scars remain after the illness.
Treatment of the disease is performed on an outpatient basis. With early diagnosis, local therapy is avoided. Self-medication is categorically prohibited, since there is no single remedy for the disease, and treatment is performed with a complex prescription of ointments and antibiotic therapy.
