Quilling "Autumn"

Autumn is probably the brightest time of the year, but even the colorful landscapes outside the window do not brighten up the autumn melancholy. Rainy, cloudy days and sadness over the passing summer are sad thoughts, so it's time to do needlework.

There are many interesting techniques for making various crafts, however, the quilling technique or simply paper wrapping deserves special attention. By itself, the technique is fairly simple to perform, so even beginners will find it quite easy to master it. The idea is to twist a special paper for quilling in various forms, with which you can then create a variety of patterns and drawings.

In the technique of quilling on the theme of autumn, you can create a variety of different masterpieces: golden and purple bouquets of flowers, twigs of trees, leaves or other objects reminiscent of autumn.

In addition, from the individual elements created in the quilling technique, you can create real autumn paintings.

In this article we present to your attention a small master class in which we show how to make a beautiful autumn leaf in the quilling technique.

For creativity you will need:

Let's proceed:

  1. At the first stage, it is necessary to prepare a template for a beautiful maple leaf, while carefully considering all the veins and patterns. For convenience of work, by sewing pins we pin a leaf to a dense surface.
  2. Strips of red quilling paper need to make a skeleton for the leaf. To do this, attach a strip of paper to the bottom pin, wrapping it around the pin itself. Further, we carry the paper up, glue the top pin and return to the bottom. Thus, fixing the edges of the strip with pins, draw all the veins of the sheet.
  3. Now, by twisting, it is necessary to prepare the blanks to fill the base of the leaf. Blanks, can be of different shapes: in the form of a drop, petal, eye, etc.
  4. With the help of PVA glue, we glue the finished molds, filling the space between the veins. We make a leaf with a red strip and paste a "tail".

The resulting maple leaf can become an ornament of any postcard or page, and also be used as a separate element of various autumn crafts in quilling techniques.
