How to fix facade siding on the house?
To work on installing the siding you will need such tools and materials:
- saw or Bulgarian;
- screwdriver and screwdriver;
- Galvanized self-tapping screws (better with a rubberized head);
- level or laser tape measure;
- a hammer;
- high stepladder;
- accessories for the installation of siding.
Work on the installation of siding should begin with the preparation of the walls of the house. Remove all doors, trim and other projecting parts. Cover all cracks and holes in the walls. If the house is wooden, treat its walls with an antiseptic. House of foam concrete is covered with a primer.
- We mount a crate of metal profile or wooden rails. Using the level and roulette on the walls of the house, we mark out a closed straight line. At the corners of the house we measure the distance from the line to the cap and at this level we draw another line along which the starting bar will pass. Keep track on the level behind the strict horizontal line of this line, so that in the future there are no distortions of the facing panels.
- Starting from the corners, we mount vertical guides using U-shaped fasteners. They should fit as close to the wall as possible. The distance between the slats should be about 40 cm.
- We install the water outlets on the base of the building so that their upper edge passes along the previously planned line. Corner profile is fixed with a screw at the top of the first hole. All other screws must be screwed into the middle of the holes.
- At the top of the line drawn earlier, we attach the starting bar. The finishing strip should be installed in the place where the siding will end with siding.
- Now you can install siding panels. The first of their series must be fastened to the starting line. In this case, the lower lock should snap into place, and the top of the panel is fixed with screws every 40 cm. All other panels are installed exactly. It should be remembered that it is impossible to fix the panels rigidly, the screws need to be screwed not to the stop, but leaving a gap of about 1 mm. So at temperature fluctuations siding does not burst. At the top, the last row of panels ends at the finish line.
- After completing all the work, you can attach the previously removed doors and trim to the place. This will look like a house covered with vinyl siding.
