How to plan a kitchen?

In order to plan the kitchen, some invite design experts. But it is quite possible to do it yourself. First of all, it should be remembered that the design of the kitchen should be functional. But also, of course, interesting. So let's find out how to plan the kitchen properly.

Useful advice for kitchen planning

Designers distinguish six variants of kitchen layout:

Let's consider each of these options.

If in the kitchen furniture is located along one of the walls, then they say about the linear layout. Use this layout for small kitchens, or in kitchens that are combined with the dining room.

Two-line layout is suitable for long narrow kitchens. However, remember that with this option, the distance between the cabinets should be more than 1.2 meters. If this distance is less, it will be inconvenient for you to open the doors of cabinets on both sides of the kitchen: they will interfere with each other. It is best to put a sink and a stove on one side of such a kitchen, and on the other - a refrigerator.

The most commonly used variant of the kitchen layout is L-shaped. This layout will fit perfectly into a large kitchen and a small one. With this arrangement of furniture, you can conveniently arrange a dining area.

The U-shaped layout will be ideal for those housewives who spend a lot of time in the kitchen. After all, household appliances and furniture with this option are located along three sides of the kitchen, and there is a lot of space for storing various kitchen accessories.

In the peninsular kitchen there is an additional work surface or a sink with a stove, and sometimes a bar counter, connected to the main furniture.

If you have a spacious kitchen and a lot of free space, you can use the island layout, in which there is an additional "island", located in the center of the kitchen. In principle, such an island can be created in any form of planning, if only allowed the area of the kitchen.

When creating the design of modern kitchen-studio, a free lay-out is used, at which the space is considerably expanded, the illumination of the room is improved. Therefore, they create a kitchen-studio more often in single-room or small two-room apartments, separating the rest zone from the kitchen part of the premises with the help of a bar rack , columns , shelves with indoor plants and other design elements.
