Jute carpets are returning to fashion again. Now they have a more attractive and varied coloring than it was in Soviet times. In this case, all the positive characteristics they have remained the same. So many people today again recall these practical and durable rugs and buy them for their homes .
What makes jute carpets on the floor?
Jute, which is the basis of jute carpets, is a natural material obtained from the same-named annual plant growing in hot subtropical countries. The plant is very strong, because it is used to produce various products - ropes, ropes, sacks and carpets.
Among other useful properties of jute:
- The natural color and gloss of jute is advantageously used in the manufacture of objects for interior decoration;
- all products are 100% natural and environmentally friendly;
- jute yarns are very durable to mechanical loads due to the natural high molecular weight polymers contained in the plant;
- jute is hygroscopic, because jute fibers are used for sacking and packing materials - jute absorbs moisture, but does not let it inside, remaining dry to the touch.
All of the above properties are inherent in natural jute carpets. They are ecological, durable and hygroscopic. The latter property, by the way, does not always play into the hands. If you try to wash the carpet from jute, you will encounter the fact that after getting wet it will weigh 4-5 times more than in dry form. This will cause certain difficulties in the rinsing and drying process.
By the way, to dry after washing jute carpets can only be in a horizontal position, constantly turning it over. In the summer heat, the process will take about 3 days.
Due to the fact that jute products perfectly retain their shape, you can often find wool carpets with a jute base. Due to the useful properties of jute, the products are of high quality.
