However, far from always these calculations are transparent and understandable to the employee, unskilled in the labor legislation, therefore it is very difficult to notice random or deliberate errors in the calculations. How to determine the length of service for a sick leave?

For calculation, you need a work book and a calculator. The calculation is quite simple: it is necessary to add up all periods within which payments to the insurance fund were made. If some of them are not listed in the workbook, you can use labor contracts. It may happen that the periods included in the length of insurance will coincide (for example, the private entrepreneur worked under the contract, but also made voluntary contributions), in this case one of the periods at the employee's request is taken into account.

A sick leave card or, more correctly, a sheet for incapacity for work, is the basis for exemption from work duties in connection with disability and preservation of the employee's salary. Hospital, depending on the length of service, is paid in different ways:

In some cases, the length of service for the hospital does not matter: recovery from injury received at work, pregnancy and child care for up to three years, in these cases, the average salary should be paid. Also, the average salary is paid in full to the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and parents in case of illness of a child under 14 years of age.

In order to determine the amount that you must pay on a sick-list, other than the length of insurance, you need to know your average or average daily official wage and calculate hours or days of incapacity for work.

Non-working days, weekends and holidays that occurred during the period of incapacity for work are not payable, but if the illness occurred during the holiday, then it is paid on a general basis, in that case the vacation can be extended or some of it can be postponed to another time.

It is important to remember that it is possible to get payment for a hospital from the former workplace, if no more than a month has elapsed since the moment of dismissal until the onset of disability. The size of the payment will depend on the duration of the work in the organization, but it will be made even if you have a minimum period of insurance.
