Japanese style in the interior

Remember the famous phrase of Comrade Sukhov from the "hot sun of the desert"? "The East is a delicate matter," he did not tire of resembling the incomplete orderly Petruha. And although the speech in the film was absolutely about the other east, Comrade Sukhov's phrase is also true for the mysterious Japan with its wise hieroglyphs, elusive ninjas and laconic minimalism. And the Japanese style in the interior of even modern European houses is considered a top taste and sophistication. Let's get acquainted with this wonderful world of Eastern harmony.

How should the Japanese style look in the interior design

But before the introduction of our idea into the reality of the everyday life of a European person, it is worth to learn what the ideal Japanese style in interior design looks like, so that later you do not have to regret about rash actions and vainly discarded money.

So, the apartment in the Japanese style is, first of all, minimalism and severity of lines. The Japanese are practical people, they do not aspire to the praise of the luxury of their homes, but rather, on the contrary, they love modesty and pacification.

This effect is achieved by using the correct geometric lines, a harmonious combination of soft, discreet colors and the absence of bulky furniture. After all, the famous tea ceremonies are not just the use of a fragrant drink, it is a whole action of human unity with nature, reflections on high matters and philosophy, communication between all members of the family and instructive conversations.

Therefore, the ideal design of the room in the Japanese style involves bamboo mats on the floor, pots with a bansa or vases with ikebana on the windowsills, shelves in the form of hieroglyphs and traditional Japanese plots on the walls. Well, and what a Japanese room without a small tea-table, soft silk pillows for sitting and unchanged Japanese screens. Do you think all these attributes will fit into the apartment of a modern European? Perhaps, but only in our, European, manner.

European style apartment in Japanese style

To tell the truth, it is not worthwhile to equip the whole interior of a European apartment in Japanese style, it is better to allocate one room or a part of it for this business. But even in this case, to abuse the details of the Japanese style is not worth it, but it will not be an exotic corner, but a museum of national art. Here is one example of the introduction of the Japanese style in the interior of a modern European dwelling.

We will create a piece of Japan in one of the corners of a large living room. The walls in this part of the room are decorated with wallpaper under the bamboo, from which small birds look in places. On the window we hang light short curtains in the tone of the walls. On the windowsill we place an elegant vase with ikebana. On the floor a mat, similar to a bamboo mat, and put a low tea table in the center. It can successfully replace a coffee table, the main thing is that the color fits into the overall situation.

As already mentioned above, the Japanese prefer to sit on pillows or on the floor. For us, this option is unaccustomed, therefore for sitting is best suited either low sofas, or soft puffs. And as lighting devices it is preferable to take miniature sconces in the form of a flower, a branch with leaves or a flashlight.

The decoration of the room in the Japanese style will well complement the screen. It will partition the room into two independent zones, creating the illusion of moving from one country to another. Well, if you want space, the screen can easily be folded and cornered.

That's how we got the Japanese style in the interior of the European apartment. Of course, this is just one of many of its variations, you can come up with your own, most importantly, that you like it.
