Jill Sander

"Simply, concisely, absolutely not democratic and very expensive" - that's how one of the most famous fashion brands Jil Sander, whose creator is Heidemarie Zilin Zander, better known as Jil Sander, is characterized. The models of this brand have been considered for many years by women of the whole world the standard of elegance and simplicity.

Jill Sander is a sumptuous minimalist of fashion, a high-end fashion designer, a woman dressed simply and elegantly, using her right to choose very categorically and ambiguously. She was not afraid to put in place the head of Prada Holding. Her choice led to the loss of her own brand and withdrawal from her own Fashion House. And Gil's career did not immediately soar to such a dizzy height. But first things first.

Career Jill Sander

Jill was born in a small German town and was brought up by a single mother. Her fashion career, she began not with an internship in some famous Fashion House, and not with the "sheath" of her girlfriends. Jill, as a thoughtful German, figured in advance many steps of her future career. She decided to just stay in the "kitchen" of the fashion industry and better understand all the subtleties of fashion politics. Jill Sander began to prepare her ascent to the world's podiums, working as an assistant to the editor of the glossy magazine Brigitte in Hamburg and American McCalls. But Jill still did not want to associate her life with fashion journalism. She was burning with the desire to create independently, and not to criticize other people's creations. It's not for nothing that she studied textiles at home, and then at the University of California.

At her age of 25, Jill opened her first boutique in Hamburg under the brand Jil Sander, in which the first things created by a young designer were sold. The demonstration of the first collection of Jill Sander was held in Paris, and a year later in Milan. Many celebrities, quite tired of dresses too much, were pleasantly surprised by the practical and feminine style suggested by Jill Sander. And the style of the designer was distinguished by simple lines and forms, the luxury of which was complemented by exquisite fabrics. She proved to the whole world that the perfect prostate cut may look very sexy, and any details against the background of such an intriguing laconism will be superfluous. Critics nicknamed Jill "the guru of intellectual minimalism." But Jill differed not only in the distribution of strict minimalism, she revolutionized the fashion world, "infecting" him with a multi-layered style of Onion-look.

In the early 90's, Jill Sander won the fashion industry center - Paris, where she opened her first boutique on the famous Avenue Montaigne. By the time Jill had already acquired Jil Sander Cosmetics and Jil Sander Leder. She also became the first German fashion designer who represented his collections not in the homeland, but in the world capital of fashion - Milan. Her luxurious collections, distinguished by conservative clarity, made Jill one of the leading designers of the international level. In the mid-90's in the US, Jill Sander was awarded the Fashion Group Award, and later expanded her achievements with a men's collection of clothing and a line of perfume.

Changes in the fashion house Jil Sander

The end of the 90's was the beginning of major turmoil in the Fashion House of Jil Sander, when a controlling stake in the Prada Group. But such a commercial move was unsuccessful. Less than a year later, Jill began to disagree with Patrizio Bertelli, the head of Prada. It all started with the fact that Patrizio Bertelli suggested that Jill use fabric for collections simpler, thereby demonstrating its business-practicality. Naturally, Jil Sander could not agree to this. Then he wanted to "move" the production of clothing in a cheaper country. Proud of his own brand-name expensive style, Sander could not have survived it. She slammed the door and went into nowhere. The collection of autumn-winter 2000-2001, as everyone thought, was the last one created by Gil.

But a couple of years passed, and Jill Sander was invited to return to his native fashion house. Apparently, without the creator of the brand, things did not go very well. The next collection just delighted the entire fashion community. The spectator applauded standing up! But, unfortunately, Jil Sander's joyful return did not last long. She never managed to find a common language with Prada Group, and again resigned.

At the moment, the brand lives, but already an independent life, developing the traditions of the luxurious minimalism that the founder of this brand laid. And Gil Sander herself remains in the shadow of the Fashion House and zealously claims all fashionable merits. Perhaps if Jill Sander was not tired of all these fashionable intrigues and did not leave her own brand, everything would be different ... But she took advantage of her right to choose very categorically.
