Lamp of DNA

One of the most important questions that arise before every gardener who decided to start growing plants in greenhouses is how to provide them with full coverage . And not just lighting, but lighting quality, giving plants the necessary for a full-fledged development part of the spectrum, safe and does not require constant significant material costs. All these requirements are met by lamps for plants with sodium lamps such as DNaT.

Sodium lamp of type DNaT - decoding and principle of operation

Our conversation about the peculiarities of sodium lamps such as DNTT will begin with how the abbreviation "DNA" is decoded. So, DNA is nothing but an arcuate sodium tubular lamp. Both the design and the principle of operation of such a lamp are not particularly complicated. "Burner" - a cylindrical discharge tube made of pure aluminum oxide and enclosed in a transparent glass cylinder. The interior of the burner is filled with a mixture of mercury and sodium vapor, with a small content of xenon igniting gas. Like other types of gas-discharge lamps, sodium lamps of type DNaT require the use of a special trigger device - IZU and ballast (throttle). Briefly, the scheme of operation of the sodium gas-discharge lamp looks like this: immediately after switching on, the IZU supplies pulses of electrical impulses of several kilovolts to the lamp. Under the action of these pulses, a discharge occurs in the gas-discharge tube and an arc arises. Stabilizing the voltage and maintaining it at the level necessary for the normal operation of the lamp is due to the throttle included in the circuit. In addition to lamps DNaT with separately connected IZU, on sale it is possible to find also lamps at which IZU is directly included in the design of the case. These lamps are labeled DNAS, and their production is handled by Osram and Philips.

Sodium lamps of type DNaT - characteristics and features

Let us dwell on the characteristics of LNaT lamps:

  1. The most basic characteristic of DLT lamps is their specific yellow-orange radiation. Due to the fact that sodium is located in the gas discharge chamber of such lamps, their radiation is monochrome and has a high pulsation. It is for this reason that sodium lamps are not used for lighting workers, educational and residential premises.
  2. Along with the worst quality of light among other types of lamps, DNT lamps come to the forefront in terms of light output - about 100 lm / W. However, such high indicators are characteristic only of new lamps, and by the end of their service this indicator is reduced almost twofold. In this case, both the quality of light and the duration of operation of lamps of the type DNaT are directly related to the operating conditions. So, the claimed by the manufacturers of 10000 hours of service can be achieved only with the operation of a DVTT lamp in the temperature range from -30 to +40 degrees and the use of IZU of the proper quality.
  3. Because of the lamp ignition features The DVT can not be used in lighting systems with frequent on and off cycles. Thus, lamps DNaT, especially domestic production, it is necessary to "rest" before the next inclusion of at least 3-6 hours.
  4. The power of LNaT lamps ranges from 75 watts to 1 or more kilowatts. At the same time, during operation, such lamps have a very high heating property, so only lamps with a nominal power of 75 to 400 watts are suitable for plant growing. More powerful lamps will simply burn tender leaves of greenhouse plants. Strong heating also necessitates the use for special lamps of special lamps, which, on the one hand, will protect them from direct water splashes and contamination, and on the other hand provide the necessary air for cooling the lamp.
