What is the use of metal-free ceramics in dentistry?

  2. Based on aluminum oxide. The presented material, besides high aesthetic indicators, is very durable. Therefore, it is possible to make not only single crowns, but also bridges, from ceramics on the frame of alumina.
  3. Based on zirconium oxide. According to the characteristics of this type of ceramics surpasses the analogue based on aluminum oxide. Zirconium prostheses are hypoallergenic, do not affect the internal organs, gums, own teeth. In addition, such ceramics are more durable and, consequently, durable.

How are crowns made of non-metal ceramics made?

The manufacture of any options for prosthesis begins with the removal of the impression from the jaw. On it further modeling of future crowns , bridges or overlays in accordance with the wishes patient, the task of the dentist and general functional and aesthetic purposes.

On the basis of a wax model, the selected type of ceramics is pressed. If necessary, the received prostheses are additionally corrected and processed with high-precision diamond tools, so that the crowns are perfectly smooth and as close as possible to the gum.
