Individuals of this breed are bright representatives of large cats . The weight of the adult cat of the breed "Norwegian Forest Cat" reaches 7.5 kg (cats weigh slightly less). The body is powerful with a heavy skeleton. Since at the moment there are two types of breed - classical, obtained as a result of natural selection, and extreme - the result of selection, the appearance of representatives of different types is somewhat different. The classic type of the Norwegian forest cat has a medium body, whereas in the "extremals" it is more elongated. But the characteristic feature of both cats is their unique, two-layered coat. The upper, integumentary layer is the long soft and shiny hairs. And the lower layer - undercoat, performs a kind of protective function - this wool is oily to the touch and absolutely does not allow moisture. The long tail (commensurate with the length of the trunk) is covered with a long, thick coat. The same thick and long hair is located on the hind legs (in the form of panties) and neck in the form of a chic collar. On the head of the triangular format are large, pointed ears with a tassel at the ends. Eyes large, almond-shaped (classical type) or oval (extreme type) of various shades. The color of the coat can be anything but a Siamese. But! A white Norwegian forest cat is often the owner of blue eyes. And its opposite - a black Norwegian forest cat - has bright emerald eyes.
