Shampoo composition

Many of us have become accustomed to the fact that before buying a new product in a supermarket, you should definitely study the ingredients indicated on the package. However, when choosing a shampoo, for some reason we are content only with an inscription on the label about the presence in it of nutrient oils or useful herbs. Although in fact, given the composition, it can not be called a shampoo from natural ingredients .

Decoding shampoo composition

What is indicated on the front label, only causes a naive credulity to the producers. This is not the main constituents of shampoo. Most hair shampoos have the following composition (in descending order of quantity of substance):

  1. Water - it is 80% of the total shampoo.
  2. Laureth sodium sulfate (SLES) - about 15%. This is detrimental to the scalp. Sometimes there is its analogue - sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). It can cause allergic reactions and skin irritations.
  3. A few percent is given for the auxiliary cleaner. Usually it is cocamidopropyl betaine and coconut glucose. These are natural and harmless components derived from coconut oil.
  4. Silicone in the shampoo is, if it 's a conditioner shampoo .
  5. Dyes - denoted by the Latin letters CL.
  6. Glycold distearate - this is the so-called sequins in the shampoo.
  7. Flavors (or fragrances) - they occur in a composition called parfum or fragrance. As is known, these substances are obtained by treating oil.
  8. The last 5% are given for fatty and essential oils, vitamins and plant extracts.

Apparently, there are harmful components in shampoos. Shampoo with the presence of SLS is not worth buying, if you have high health. Items 4-7 at least do not do any good, but they add work to wash them off hair. From all this we can conclude that when choosing a shampoo, it is better to be careful and not to make rash purchases.
