Soderosen


According to the number of forests, parks and nature protection zones, Sweden ranks first among European countries. 30 km from Helsingborg in the province of Skåne is the national park Söderåsen.

Attractions of the park

Thanks to the picturesque landscapes, blue lakes and full-flowing rivers, valleys and observation platforms, the reserve is especially popular with tourists. Here's what you can see here:

  1. The observation point Coppararthat - the highest point in Soderosen - is located at an altitude of 212 m. From this part of the hill you can see especially enchanting landscapes.
  2. Yorksprenet and Lierna , two other attractive viewing platforms, are located in the valley of the full-flowing Sheralid River.
  3. Lake Oden , whose depth in some places reaches 19 m, impresses with its crystal clearness. There is an opinion that a lake was formed from the glacier, and it was named after the Norwegian god Odin.
  4. The Pensionat Söderåsen is a short walk from the National Park .

Flora and fauna

The relief of the Soderosen National Park is mostly hilly, often intersected by deep valleys. The plant world is represented by old-growth beech forests, which mixed with broad-leaved and coniferous tree species. Here virgin forests have been preserved. In the park there are a lot of endemics, including a huge variety of mosses and liverworts. The area is rich in various mushrooms, insects, birds and bats. Traces of the human presence of the Neolithic Age were found in the Soderosen Park.

How to get to the reserve?

The Soderosen National Park borders the small town of Ochorop, which has a railway station. You can reach the park by train or by bus. The easiest way to go by car. It is also possible to get on a bicycle.
