Many tourists who come to Tallinn have the opportunity to visit Helsinki and Stockholm faster and cheaper. To do this, you need to buy a tourist package for a one-day cruise in the Tallinn Passenger Port. It is from here every day that flights depart for these cities. The port itself is in the center of the capital of Estonia , a 10-minute walk from the Old Town.
Here come all the tourists who want to get to another place by sea. The port has three terminals and a separate berth for cruise ships. In addition to Finland and Sweden , vessels leave the port several times a day to Russia.
Port structure
All three terminals located near each other are indicated in capital Latin letters (A, B and D). Find any of them will not be difficult, because the signs are already set on the nearby streets leading to the port. The difference between them is that ships of certain companies come to each port:
- Terminal A leaves ships to Finland and Russia. Opening hours: from 6 am to 7 pm. From the port on the route St. Petersburg-Tallinn-Helsinki-Stockholm goes the ferry "Anastasia", the design of which always fascinates travelers. In this terminal ferries from the companies Viking Line and Eckero Line also come.
- Terminal B accepts ships only with passengers arriving from Finland and Russia. All ferries of the above companies stop here, including St Peterline.
- Terminal D accepts vessels of only one company - Talink Silja, whose ferries run on two routes of Tallinn-Helsinki; Tallinn-Stockholm. All terminals start working at 6 am, but finish almost always at different times, depending on the day of the week. For example, Terminal B on Sundays is open until 19: 30-20: 30 hours. Terminal D on Saturdays is open until 11 pm.
Tourist information card
In terminals D and A there is a free wireless internet zone. Near them there is paid parking, but in some places in the port parking cars are prohibited, so you should carefully monitor traffic signs.
Tourists traveling with pets are allowed to climb the ship, but only with documents and a ticket for smaller brothers. However, the ticket for a sea voyage is needed not only for pets, but for their owners, otherwise you can skip the entertainment program, the magnificent cuisine.
The cruise season opens in May and ends with the onset of cold weather, which in the Baltic Sea comes early. But in such a short time you can see an abundance of attractions.
