Tallinn TV tower

The Tallinn TV Tower is known throughout Estonia as the country's tallest building. To look at the city from above, you need to climb to a height of 170 m. From the panoramic observation platform, the capital is visible as in the palm of your hand!

Tallinn TV Tower - description

The Tallinn TV tower was built for the regatta, which was held in Tallinn in 1980 as part of the XXII Summer Olympic Games. The place for the TV Tower was chosen next to the Botanical Gardens, 8 km from the city center.

The height of the Tallinn TV tower is 314 m. The Tallinn TV tower is lower than its Baltic "sisters" - the Vilnius TV tower has a height of 324 m, and the Riga TV Tower - 368 m. Nevertheless, the Tallinn TV tower is the tallest building in Estonia. The reinforced concrete trunk of the television tower has a height of 190 m, the metal mast extends it another 124 m.

Inside the TV Tower

On the two lower floors of the Tallinn TV tower there is a foyer, equipment and a conference center. In the foyer there is a photo exhibition dedicated to the history of the television tower, and a souvenir shop that can be visited without buying a ticket to the TV tower. In the mini-TV studio on the first floor you can test yourself as a TV presenter - record your own video message and send it to your friends.

A high-speed elevator raises visitors to the 21st floor in 49 seconds. Here, at an altitude of 170 m, there is a panoramic observation deck, which offers views of the city and the Baltic Sea. On interactive screens you can find out how these species looked in different periods of history. For inspection of the city, telescopes are installed. The portholes are also equipped with portholes - you can see the view to the ground.

The Galaxy restaurant is on the observation deck. In a small souvenir shop you can buy sweets, coffee, soft and low-alcohol drinks for consumption on the spot.

On the 22nd floor at an altitude of 175 m there is an open observation platform. In clear weather, even the lights of the capital of Finland can be seen from here. Fans of thrill can walk along the edge of the platform (with insurance, of course). During the detour you will make a photo for memory.

How to get there?

Next to the TV Tower is the Teletorn bus stop. From the city center there are buses №№ 34А, 38 and 49.
