After all, being a recipient is not only a great honor, but also a huge responsibility.

The rite of the child's baptism does not have a specific set of rules for the godmother, but every woman who is about to baptize an infant should observe certain trivial truths and unspoken positions. This will not cause the baby unintentionally harm.

General rules for the baptism of a child for the godmother

In order for this rite to be carried out in accordance with all the rules, the godmother should start preparing for the Sacrament of Baptism well in advance. As a believer, it should not be difficult to confess and receive communion. It will not be superfluous also before the rite to be fasted. However, these provisions are not mandatory. For the godparents, it is very important to have a preliminary visit to the priest's interview with the church where the rite will be performed. This is an excellent opportunity for the godmother to learn more about the rules of the Sacrament of the child's baptism and get acquainted with the list of subjects that will be needed for the ritual.

4. To exclude high heels and too bright make-up, and completely to refuse use of lipstick.

Differences in the rules of the child's baptism for the godmother of the girl and boy

The role of the godmother is especially important if she baptizes the baby. Usually the godfather does not have much influence on the goddaughter and the rite of baptism can be performed even in his absence. According to the rules of the child's baptism, the girl's godmother is obliged to keep the baby on her hands throughout the Sacrament, and also to perceive it after dipping into the font. Godfather, just stands nearby, and takes part only when it is necessary to help wipe the baby and put a christening suit on her. In addition, the godmother will have to pronounce some prayers in the ear, so it is not superfluous to find out their names in preliminary conversations with the priest and learn them in advance.

The corresponding rules for the baptism of a child for the boy's godmother are directly opposite. In this case, the captive simply observes the Sacrament, and the above-mentioned functions are performed by the godfather. Otherwise, the rules of the child's baptism for the godmother of the boy are no different from the provisions for the girl's girl.
