The witch's hat with his own hands

At the carnival, each participant of the festival wants to look particularly unusual and at the same time elegantly. A spectacular witch costume for the New Year or Halloween is easy to do. The most noticeable element of the costume of the Western witch is a pointed headdress with fields of dark color (usually black). We suggest that you make the hat of the witch with your own hands. Witches' hood can be made of cardboard or fabric.

How to make a witch hat?

You will need:

• large disposable cardboard plate;
• A4 paper;
• black paint;
• acrylic lacquer on a water basis;
• a large brush (or sponge);
• glue;
• scissors;
• decor elements for decoration for a hat.

Progress

1. On the plate do the cuts, as in the picture. Fold the cone out of A4 paper, align it. We glue the finished cone to the part from the plate. We let the headdress dry.
2. Cover the cap with a layer of paint, trying to paint it properly.
3. Half an hour waiting until the paint dries, then apply a layer of acrylic lacquer. We decorate the hat to your liking. By the way, if you decorate the cap with asterisks, you will get a quite presentable headpiece for the astrologer's costume.

How to sew a hat of a witch?

A cute witch hat can be sewn from a fabric. For this purpose, it is necessary to measure the circumference of the head.

You will need:

• rather dense, but soft dark fabric (the best option is felt);
• cardboard;
• glue;
• scissors;
• sewing accessories.

Progress

1. We begin with the construction of the witch hat pattern. It consists of three parts: a cone and fields. It is necessary to make small allowances for seams and for gluing. The fields are also cut out of cardboard.
2. From the felt we sew the cone, we trim the bottom edge. We glue the cardboard part of the fields on both sides with the fabric details of the fields. Then we glue the hats to the cone. A ready hat should be slightly aged, slightly crushing the cone. For decor, you can use dark or bright lace, ribbons, beautiful large buckles, a brooch in the form of a toad or a spider. The latter is easy to make with your own hands, using pieces of black or dark gray fur with a large pile for the insect body, and the legs are made of black lace or leather narrow straps.

To decorate the headdress, you can sew on the edge of the fields a picturesque fringe, a fascinating veil or veil.

How to make a veil under a hat for a witch?

You will need:

• black translucent fabric 1,5х1 m;
• sewing pins;
• elastic;
• scissors;
• sewing accessories.

Progress

1. The lower edge of the product can be left flat or cut out sharp ragged corners. The upper edge of the veil is bent to 30 cm. With pins, bend, retracting from the edge 1.5 cm.
2. We sew the fold - we get a "kuliska" for the gum.
3. We cut off from the rubber band 15 cm, making loops on it.
4. In the ready "kuliska" we insert elastic, using an English pin.
5. Fata is ready! It can be put under a hat or worn without a hat, if it is very hot in the room where the party is held.

For a witch costume, a girl can sew a lush organza skirt , supplemented with a black T-shirt or a turtleneck. For a dress of an adult witch, you can also use a black blouse, shirt or turtleneck, and for the bottom of the suit any dark skirt (not necessarily black) is perfect. If you want the image of the witch to turn out to be sexy, then for the upper part take black bustier, corset or corsage, and choose a mini skirt. Well-made make-up will make you a delightful witch.
