Every day a laundry basket is filled with a pile of sliders, if there is a newborn baby in the house. These comfortable practical panties are never superfluous. If you decided to sew sliders for a newborn with your own hands, then in our master class we will tell you how to do it. But first you need to decide on the materials. What kind of fabric do sliders usually sew? It depends on the season. If the house is warm, then flax, cotton, chintz will do. For cool rooms it is better to use flannel, knitwear, bike or swing for sewing panties with closed legs. So, we sew sliders for newborns themselves.
We will need:
- the cloth;
- soft rubber band;
- scissors;
- needles, thread.
- The first thing to do is to build a pattern. Determine the length and width of the sliders and increase the templates below to the desired size. Print out the pattern and cut out the details.
- Transfer the patterns to the folded fabric, circle along the contour and cut out. To facilitate the cutting process, use pins. Do not forget to leave 1-2 centimeters on the allowances.
- Connect the front and back of the sliders and use pins to attach oval pieces (like crotches). Make sure that the product has no creases and creases that can rub the baby's skin. If everything is in order, you can start stitching the parts. Then, similarly, sew to the bottom of the pants "socks", which will save you the need for every dressing to look for what to put on the crumbs on the legs.
- Now cut off any excess fabric so that the seams do not cause the child any discomfort. After the lower parts and the crotch are sewn, you can sew the sliders along the sides.
- When you sew details, pay special attention to the accuracy of the seams. This is very important, because the baby's skin is very tender.
- It's time to sew a rubber band. To do this, measure the top edge of 1 centimeter, make a lapel and stitch it. Remember, the elastic band should not be tight, it is enough to make it two centimeters shorter than the waist circumference (rather, the tummy) of the child.
- Insert the rubber into the hole. If you pin to one end of the pin, then the process of passing through will be much simpler. Sew both ends, turn the sliders to the front. It remains to wash them, and a new thing for crumbs is ready!
