Topiary of acorns

Autumn time is the time for crafts made of natural materials. Chestnuts and cones, fallen leaves and, of course, acorns are perfect for making all kinds of handmade masterpieces. And now let's learn together how to make a decorative tree from acorns!

We make a topiary from acorns

  1. First of all, go to the nearest forest and get more acorns, preferably with hats.
  2. We will also need a barrel for the topiary (a smooth and strong tree branch), a stand for future crafts, an adhesive thermo gun, bronze acrylic paint and various decorative materials (twine, sisal, beads).
  3. A ball for the crown of the topiary can be used either - either styrofoam or homemade, from papier-mache.
  4. So, first you need to connect the tree crown to the trunk, which, in turn, is fixed on a stable stand. As the last you can use any jar, bucket or cup, which then zadekorirovat in the same style as the topiary.
  5. We begin to glue the ball with acorns, choosing the most beautiful and fresh from the fruits of oak collected by you. Keep in mind that withered acorns can crack during work, and this does not decorate your topiary. When the glue dries, paint the acorns with bronze or other suitable paint.
  6. After the entire balloon has been glued, the gaps between the acorns in places where the base of the crown can be seen can be clipped with corrugated paper or covered with finely chopped strings of string, seeds or simply sparkles.
  7. If desired, you can swap places 5 and 6 of this master class: first glue the ball decor (for example, sisal), and then place on top of the acorn. Use this sisal to decorate the tub, in which your tree "grows".
  8. Similarly, you can make a topiary not only from acorns, but also from cones, chestnuts and other gifts of nature.
