Plaid for the newborn crochet

There is no better gift for young parents than a soft, cozy and beautiful plaid for their baby. And there is no better rug than that associated with love and care with your own hands. That is why we devoted our master classes to crocheting beautiful blankets for a newborn. Below, we will describe in detail how to connect two plaids for babies: delicate with flowers and mischievous with teddy bears. Both plaids will be knitted from separate square elements, which then will need to be put together. This is very convenient, because if the rug is too small, it can be easily increased, adding a few more motives. To make the plaid comfortable to use, its dimensions should be approximately 80x80 cm.

We knit a plaid for the newborn crochet - option 1

To knit a floral rug we will need:

Let's get to work:

  1. The entire plaid will consist of the same square white-pink floral motifs. For each of them, you need to loop through five air loops, tying them with a white thread. We pass to the next row, tying up the lifting loops (3 pcs). And we untying from the center of the ring 8 groups of 2 columns with a crochet, separated by 1 air loop. The groups are separated by arches from 3 air loops.
  2. The next row is knit a string of pink. We begin, as usual, with lifting loops, then we will remove from each arch 7 columns with a crochet. In this case, the first column in the group should be left unfinished, closing it together with the last column of the group. To connect groups with each other again we are tying arches from 3 loops.
  3. Thus, the petals of the flower will acquire the required volume.
  4. At this stage, the floral motif will look like this:
  5. Now we give each flower motif a square shape.
  6. To do this, we continue the work with a white thread and we will fasten 6 columns from each arch, dividing the groups of them by air loops: 1 group-3 p-2 group-1 p-3 group-3 p.-4 group-1 p.- 5 group-3 item-6 group-1 item-7 group-3 item-8 group-1 item
  7. Then we knit the bars. From the arches on the corners of the motif, we group 2 groups of 3 columns each, dividing 3 of them with air loops.
  8. The last row is done with columns without a crochet.
  9. We connect the motifs with air chains with a thread of pink color.
  10. We also make the harness a pink thread.

For a rug you will need:

Let's get to work:

  1. We will ring 5 air loops, we will fasten them with columns without a crochet.
  2. We proceed to the next row, connecting the lifting loop.
  3. We continue the work, tying the end of the working thread.
  4. We use a series of columns without a crochet, increasing their number by half.
  5. We continue knitting with a thread of a different color with columns with a crochet.
  6. Do not forget to thread 2 beads for the eyes of a bear cub.
  7. Having connected 9 columns, we fix the first bead, and after 6 columns - the second.
  8. At the end of the series, knitting looks like this:
  9. We knit the lifting loops.
  10. We continue knitting with bars.
  11. Now our knitting looks like this:
  12. We change the thread color again.
  13. As in the previous case, we give the motif a square shape.
  14. We finish the series and terminate the working thread.
  15. Pin marks a place for the ears of our bear cub.
  16. Stepping 4 loops from the intended place, we begin to tie the lower part of the ear.
  17. We do it with columns with a crochet.
  18. Carefully fix the working thread.
  19. Similarly, we untangle the second ear, and then embroider the spout.
  20. So we get a square motif for the blanket.
