- Primer varnishes . Are intended for coupling of a finish covering with a board. Improve the quality of the layers of lacquer, help to obtain an even, beautiful color and protect the dies from the effects of moisture. In this case, it should be borne in mind that the finish coat and primer should consist of compatible components, otherwise dissonance may arise between the layers.
- Water-soluble varnishes . Their main advantages are low cost and fast drying. But it should be noted that the varnish is demanding in the choice of the means of application. Do not use brushes, sponges, spatulas or tampons. There is only a roller. Water-soluble varnishes also have low wear resistance and can cause unwanted squeaks in the field.
- Polyurethane varnishes . Are used in halls of restaurants, corridors. But you need to consider that alkyd varnishes are capricious in the application (you need to artificially lower the temperature, monitor the thickness of the layer)
and have low wear resistance. - Acid-cured lacquers . Formaldehyde resins are the basis here, which have a strong pronounced odor, but when applied, evaporate well from the floor. Such varnishes are very easy to apply and have excellent performance properties. Suitable for any rooms.
The bottom line: it is impossible to say unambiguously which varnish for parquet is better, because everything depends on the purpose of the room. So, for the hallway and the kitchen, it is better to choose a formaldehyde lacquer, for the living room - oil (alkyd), for the children - water-soluble.
