No matter how many new materials for manufacture are offered by modern furniture manufacturers, the tree was and remains the best of them. Products made of wood, especially from one-piece - it's a classic, time-tested. People continue to choose wooden furniture to arrange their homes.
Make a chair made of wood with your own hands is not easy, especially if you do not specialize in making furniture. Therefore it is better to start with more simple country furniture.
Solid wood chair
In order to make a wooden chair, you need to prepare such materials and tools:
- edged board;
- bars of wood;
- gon;
- hacksaw;
- construction level;
- plane;
- drill;
- screwdriver and self-tapping screws;
- chisel;
- ax;
- mallet;
- sandpaper;
- matte colorless varnish;
- stain.
Manufacture of chairs made of wood with their own hands begins with the preparation of all the components of the future chair: two rear, two front legs, five longitudinal and two cross bars for the backrest, seat bars, two armrests.
We connect first the rear legs with the elements of the seat in any way, ideally - glue them together and squeeze them in the clamp before the glue dries. Dry the workpiece should be about 48 hours. Another way of joining: across the boards at the junction points, make two parallel cuts with a depth equal to ½ of the thickness of the board. All the wood in the gap between the cuts is removed by the chisel, and into the resulting groove we will press the slats.
We prepare similarly our back, connecting the longitudinal and transverse bars with the help of grooves.
Next, we have to make the legs of the chair. If you have a lathe and fantasy, you can make them carved. The design of the chair depends entirely on you and your desire. But, in principle, you can make them even - classical.
We trim the legs, making them the same, not forgetting the rule "Measure seven times, one - cut it."
We make armrests for our comfortable chair-chair. For them, you need to connect two slats at a right angle. Again, we use the grooving of the grooves and fasten them with glue.
It remains to consolidate all the blanks with each other. The method of connection is chosen classical - with screws and screwdrivers.
When our chair is made of wood, you need to cover it with your own hands with varnish or paint, pre-priming the wood.
