Al Nour

The arid climate of the Arabian Peninsula has repeatedly destroyed numerous attempts by the local population to somehow increase the area of landscaping in populated areas. And finally, already at the state level in the United Arab Emirates , it was decided to create an artificial green landscape park Al Nur.

Description of the park

The island park Al Nur is located in the lagoon Khalid in Sharjah directly opposite the beautiful mosque with the same name and is an artificial and beautiful landscape park. The project belongs to the German design studio 3deluxe, which designed and created every cozy corner of this place. The total value of the artificial oasis is $ 22 million.

The park was opened to the public in December 2015. Currently active work is carried out on gardening, abundant watering and conservation of vegetation. The idea is to plant over 1000 different rare flowers and trees. A separate area is reserved for the garden of cacti. The opportunity to visit the green park Al Nur is worth it for a while to abandon the relaxed beach holiday .

What is interesting about Al Nur?

The most important entertainment and the first design object on the landscape island of Sharjah is a butterfly park. Its golden dome seems unusually light and lace thanks to a special pattern remotely reminiscent of butterfly wings.

The Butterfly Pavilion on Al Nura is relatively small, but within its walls it was possible to create a real oasis in which about 500 exotic and beautiful butterflies are born and live permanently. The collection of pupae was collected in India and from all over Southeast Asia and transferred to the park as a gift from the ruler of the emirate of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. It is an incredibly cozy and comfortable exposition.

Among the entire recreational space you can find a place for enthusiasm and sport - a huge trampoline in the form of a wide and very long path. It enjoys great popularity among holidaymakers of all ages. Recreation areas are decorated with unusual figures, benches and designs.

Particularly admirable is the evening and night illumination, consisting of many small and colorful lamps in the form of tiny flowers. Al-Nura also has a Literary Pavilion and several children's playgrounds. The paths along the edges are decorated with olives, brought from Spain.

How to get to Al Nur?

On the island, tourists can only get on foot on a very beautiful bridge with wooden decking and flower beds, connecting Al Nur with the main embankment.

At the very beginning of the bridge there are cash desks: for an adult visiting the park costs $ 12.5, but after 18:00 pm the ticket price drops to $ 8. Entrance to the bridge is possible from 9:00 to 23:00, on weekends - until midnight. Butterfly House (butterfly park in Sharjah ) is available until 18:00.
