For a large number of couples, such a procedure as IVF is the only possible chance to give birth to a baby. However, because of its high cost, it is not available to all. That is why in most countries there are government support programs. According to them, a certain amount of money is allocated from the budget every year, which is directed to assistive reproductive technologies. What is necessary to obtain a quota?

A long period of waiting for a quota for IVF is preceded by the collection of necessary documents. So, first the married couple should be recognized as infertile by the medical commission, which is documented.

After a woman receives a certificate that she is considered infertile, a number of laboratory tests are assigned and a tubal sterility is diagnosed on their basis, which is an indication for in vitro fertilization. Only after this, a woman has the opportunity to receive a quota for IVF by CHI and falls into the so-called waiting list.

Where should the future mother contact after receiving the documents?

After the potential mother has collected all the necessary documents, the conclusion and direction for the procedure of in vitro fertilization, she turns to the medical center that is treating infertility. Here the woman is provided with a complete list of those medical institutions that perform the IVF procedure. The choice can be made on the basis of personal preferences, but more often it happens according to territorial attachment.

Having applied to the chosen medical center, the woman provides documents according to which she has the right to conduct IVF on a free basis. After reviewing the entire package, you may be refused. How does the quota formation take place?

In most countries of the post-Soviet space, the main documentary, regulating the order of allocation of quotas, is a decree of the Ministry of Health. It is in these documents that the guarantees for providing free medical care to the population are clearly spelled out.

So, for example, in Russia the procedure of ECO is financed simultaneously from 3 budgets: federal, regional and local. The amount allocated from the state budget is calculated to cover the cost:

• consultations of narrow specialists;
• stimulation of the ovulatory process;
• the commission of IVF;
• diagnosis of pregnancy.

The number of state quotas allocated by the state is calculated annually. So, for example, in 2015 this figure was about 700 cycles in Russia.

As for Ukraine, the state support program for in vitro fertilization is also there. However, there are currently no funds allocated for it from the budget.

How long does it take to wait for the quota for IVF?

It is necessary to say that it is impossible to name the time period after which a woman can undergo IVF. The thing is that this parameter directly depends on the number of applications and the volume of allocated subsidies.
