Cybercriminals, whose track is lost in the Russian segment of the Internet space, left malicious links on the page of Britney Spears in Instagram among the numerous comments of fans of the 35-year-old pop singer.
Attack on Spears subscribers
The soul of Britney Spears, who now does not think about the bad, enjoying the romance with the young boyfriend Sam Asgari, unwittingly, became an accomplice to the hackers from the Turla group, which the competent authorities of ESET, dealing with the issues of safety in the net, are associated with Russia.
The attackers used the singer's account in Instagram to infect the personal technical devices of her followers with a computer virus, reading from them passwords, including bank and personal data.
How does it work?
For this, the criminals did not even have to crack the Spears page, which has 17 million subscribers. They simply left a link under any fresh photo of the star, making it clear that by going over it, fans will be able to see the hot shots of Britney with a certain man.
This trick was working. Clicking on the link, the naive curious downloaded on their gadgets the virus from the grouping server, wondering why their computers, laptops and phones suddenly went crazy.
