Cement-sand plaster

Cement-sand plastering is a classic way of finishing the surface. Operational and decorative properties are quite high, in addition, it is one of the most budgetary finishes.

Components of cement-sand mixture for plastering

The basis is an astringent in the form of cement. For internal use, cement M150, M200 is quite suitable. For the facade M300 is required, for aggressive environments - M400 or M500. Career sand is the best filler in this case. Too small fraction will provoke cracking, coarse grinding complicates. The proportion of sand-cement is 1: 3 (1: 4). On 1 m & sup2 consumes about 1.5 kg of solution at a layer thickness of 1 cm.

The solution itself is not too plastic to improve this index, you need to add polymers, for example, PVA glue. Adhesion and elasticity will improve. To make the plaster less vapor-tight, you can add slaked lime.

The plaster can be a simple, improved and high-quality type. Simple involves applying only 2 layers, a spray and a primer. Beacons are not required. Improved version has a cover layer with a trowel. High-quality finish should be carried out on beacons, can have up to 5 layers. The verticality of the lines is controlled by the rules.

For plastering work, you need the following tools: trowel, spatula, plaster shovel, ironing pad, polteres, graters and rules. In a room with high humidity, surface treatment with acid solutions against the fungus is recommended. Works are carried out by a fly brush, paint roller or with a sprayer.

Plaster with cement-sand mortar: ready mixes

Ready mixes consist of the same components as those that you will mix yourself: sand, cement, lime, some additives. However, the difference in qualitative characteristics is palpable. The sand is thoroughly washed and calibrated. The newest type of plaster solution is a polymer-cement mixture. Special additives contribute to the growth of strength, better resistance to mechanical damage, better frost resistance.

Ready mixes are usually sold in paper bags. You will only need to add the correct amount of water and mix the ingredients. Manufacturing in industrial conditions significantly increases the chances of obtaining a high-quality finish coating, which is especially important for façade cement-sand plaster.
