Cleavia - care

Clivia belongs to the family of Amaryllis. The difference of this plant is that it does not have an onion, like all other representatives of this family. Instead of a bulb, the leaves of the clivia form a powerful stalk that replaces it. There are a lot of different varieties of this plant, but in the room conditions they often grow cinnabar or noble cervices. Such indoor flowers as cleavage can be grown with diffused light or partial shade.

How to care for the cleavage?

Care for the cleansing should be very thorough, although it will not bring many difficulties:

  1. Plant the plant better in greenhouse land, with the addition of sand and garden soil. You can arrange the flower on almost any window, but do not allow direct sun rays.
  2. Watering. In the period from spring to autumn, the enema should be watered fairly abundantly. When the flower stalk reaches a height of about 15 cm or with the advent of late autumn, watering should be reduced. In winter, instead of a watering can, you can moisturize a plant with an atomizer, spraying the soil and leaves is enough. To water a plant it is necessary only soft boiled water after drying of the top layer of an earthen coma.
  3. Cleavia: reproduction. Reproduction of the cleavage can be carried out in two ways: by dividing during transplantation, by seeds. For reproduction by seeds, it is necessary to wait for the flowering of the plant and two to three months after it to collect the seeds. Seeds are planted fresh after harvesting. In a month you will see shoots. It should be borne in mind that after the harvesting of seeds, it is possible to expect the next flowering only after 5 years.
  4. Transfer. This flower does not like transplantation and there is a high probability of decaying the roots. It is necessary to change the cleansing very carefully and only in case of emergency. If possible, it is better to give preference to transshipment. Adult plants are transplanted every two to three years. In the year when the transplant is not done, it's enough just to replace the top layer of the earth. It is very important to ensure good drainage when transplanting. Clivia needs a very tight pot, when too much space, the flower ceases to bloom. Very carefully when transplanting, follow the root neck. If it is closed, the lower part of the leaves begins to rot.
  5. Cleavia: illness. Most often in the cultivation of the Cleavage the growers face a shield. They are small brown plaques that spread throughout the surface of the leaves. Shields suck out the cell sap. You can fight with a scabbard using a soap solution. With a soap sponge, you must mechanically remove the scabbards from the surface of the plant, then treat the flower with a solution of the actinic (per 1 liter of water 2 ml). If there are mealybugs, the leaves start to dry and curl, then fall off. In the end, the plant dies. With a soapy sponge you need to wipe the flower and then rinse it under a warm shower. Not infrequently a flower infects a spider mite and aphids.

How to make a cliche blossom?

The flowering of the Cleavia is a very beautiful and bright spectacle, but it is not so easy to achieve flowering. Many growers complain that the cleavage does not bloom for a long period. In order to make it bloom, you need to provide her with special care:
