The collector for heating performs the function of distributing the coolant between all heating systems: radiators , warm floor and others.
What is the purpose of the collector in the heating system?
The collector is a container in which the coolant is collected. It stores and accumulates liquid before its release into the pipeline systems. In this case, a uniform and simultaneous distribution of water across all the openings occurs. In addition, the device can redistribute the liquid, delivering more or less to any wing. The totality of all the constituent parts of the reservoir makes it possible to produce complete control over the movement of the coolant.
Types of collectors for heating systems
There are two main types of distribution manifolds:
- Manifold for the boiler room. It differs in large dimensions, for its production use a pipe with a diameter of 100 mm. The design of the device includes two distribution manifolds. The first performs the function of supplying the coolant to certain wings of the heating system, consisting of cranes and circular pumps. The second is responsible for the collection of the cooled liquid from these wings, including cutoff valves. In the collector for the boiler house there are temperature and pressure sensors, as well as a water gun that monitors the maintenance of the optimum temperature difference between the supply and processing.
- Local distribution manifold for heating system. It differs from the collector for the boiler room with its miniature dimensions and has a different operating principle. In the switchgear for the boiler-house, a complete replacement of the coolant, brought to a cooled temperature, with a new heated liquid is carried out. In the local comb, the liquid is diluted hot and sends back to the system. This allows you to reduce the cost of energy resources, since a measured amount of coolant is delivered to a certain section of the system. Local devices are most often used to connect radiators in one room in a large number and for the equipment of warm water floors.
Joint application of these two types of collectors will allow to achieve maximum efficiency of the heating system.
Solar collectors for home heating
Solar energy is an alternative source for obtaining heat. The function of solar collectors is the conversion of solar energy into thermal energy. Devices heat water, which is used to heat the room.
Solar collectors have the following advantages:
- reduction of gas consumption during the sunny season. Depending on the weather conditions in the summer, it is possible to completely obtain hot water with the help of a solar collector, and in spring and autumn, significantly reduce the load on the gas boiler;
- Availability in the installation without obtaining a special permit;
- a long period of operation - more than 15 years.
Disadvantages of solar collectors are:
- high price;
- impossibility of constant use. The use of devices depends on weather conditions;
- the device requires a storage tank. If it is not provided for in the heating system, this will entail additional costs for its acquisition.
Thus, the collector for heating is an indispensable element that ensures the normal functioning of the heating system.
