Draining for a bath

Often, we do not think about how these or other devices work in our home, until one of them goes out of order. For example, how much do we know about the design and operation of the bathroom drain? And they, it turns out, also exist several varieties.

What is the overflow for the bathroom?

In the common people, this system is called a dressing. It protects the bathroom from overfilling with water, ensuring that the water is drained into the sewerage system. Consists of drainage from pipes and hoses connecting holes in the wall and bottom of the bathroom, as well as with a water drainage system.

The most common drainage system in the bathroom consists of a drain neck installed on the bottom of the bathroom, an overflow filler installed in the bathroom wall, a siphon acting as a shutter from the sewer smell, a connecting hose for overflowing water from the overflow into the siphon and a spout that diverts water already in the sewer. The standard diameter of the drainage bath is 40-50 mm.

Modification of the traditional system is a drain-overflow for a semi-automatic bath. Such a system consists of a control unit (buttons, a rotary ring, a valve that raise and lower the plug), a valve button and a cable controlling the plug. From its predecessor, this sink retained the siphon drain and drain pipes. To control the cork, now you do not need to bend over and wet your hands, and the design of the structure at altitude.

The drain-overflow machine for the bath is structurally and fundamentally little different from the semi-automatic. The innovation consists of a fully automated cork, which is now equipped with a spring and a retainer. When you press the button, the plug goes down and clogs the drain hole in the bathroom. Pressing again opens the cork, which causes the water to drain. Management of such a system is possible not only with hands, but also with your feet. The design of the button can be very different, which makes it possible to create the necessary interior in the smallest detail.

Plumbing installation

Self-assembly of the drain-overflow system under the bathroom is quite feasible. The main thing is that the bath is set in the level and fixed.

First, a tee is connected to the drain hole with gasket, which is fixed with a screw. Then a siphon is attached to the tee tap, using a nut and a seal in the form of a rubber cone cuff. Further, to the siphon siphon, the overflow neck is attached. And in the end, the siphon is equipped with a pouring pipe, which is then taken to the sewerage system.

At each stage there are gaskets. After installation, it is necessary to check the system for leaks, filling the bathroom. Leaks can be removed with a sealant.
