Ducal Palace - Italy

So, let's take a bit of history and remember the centuries of the departed. As you know, Venice was a sea city and it was thanks to its dominance on many sea routes that it was not a poor city. Of course, at first everything began with a small settlement of fishermen and pirates, but over time, Venice began to become a real city-state. It goes without saying that someone must govern the city-state, so in 697 the first doge was elected, which in Latin means "leader". Since the Doge did not receive any salary, and all the initiation ceremonies were paid out of his own pocket, when choosing a doge, one of the main factors was his prosperity. Initially, the doji lived in an old building that had been left since the Roman times, but later it was decided that the doji should live in a richer and chic building that would reflect all the might and grandeur of Venice.

In this way, in the 14th century, the construction of the Doge's Palace began. Over the creation of this chic palace worked a lot of famous masters, whose creations we can with pleasure and admiration to observe even centuries later, in our days. After getting acquainted with the history of the Palace of the Venetian Doges, let's get a little closer to its interior, above the beauty of which such masters as Titian and Bellini worked.

Of course, the first thing that looks to the view is the facade, but the interior decoration is no less important, because, as the well-known proverb says: they meet by clothes, but see off in the mind, so it's the case with buildings. No one will be imbued with love for the palace, which admires the beauty from the outside and terrifies the desolation inside. In regard to the Doge's Palace, there is no need to worry about this, because everything is beautiful to the ends of the bas-reliefs.

There are not enough words, and places to describe all the beauties of this palace, but for some of the main aspects, you still need to pay attention and enjoy them at least in absentia, although, of course, it is much better to see this all at first hand.

The first traveler will be met by the grand staircase of the Giants, named after two charming statues depicting Mars and Neptune. On the landing, which leads the staircase, there passed that magnificent ceremony marking the entry of the doge to his post.

But in order to rise to the ceremonial halls of the Doge's Palace, it is necessary to climb the Golden ladder. This staircase is decorated with gilded stucco and frescoes. It was intended for high-ranking people, since centuries ago, not everyone was allowed to admire the beauty and luxury.

There are only nine ceremonial rooms in the palace: the Scarlatti hall, the Grand Council Hall, the Kart hall, the Senate hall, the Four Beasts Hall, the Ten Council Hall, the Boardroom hall, the Criminal Investigation Hall and the Law Hall. Each of these halls impresses with the luxury and richness of its decoration. In addition, in the rooms of the Doge's Palace there are many paintings belonging to the brush of the great masters.

And at last I would like to pay special attention to the Bridge of Sighs, which can be accessed through the corridor from the hall of the Criminal Division. The Bridge of Sighs, thrown across the Palace Canal, leads to the New Prisons. It was on this bridge that the criminals who were sentenced to death were the last to contemplate the sky. And in our time the Bridge of Sighs is one of the most popular places for visits .

The Ducal Palace in Venice is a stunning historical monument that encompasses all the qualities of Italy from the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries - luxury, wealth, elegance and dazzling splendor. A visit to this palace is like a walk to the past, with a budget enough, because tickets to the Doge's Palace are much cheaper (13 euros) than building a time machine.
