Each month the couple was photographed until one of them went to eternity ...

This dramatic and at the same time bright photo-story is one of those after which I immediately want to visit my parents and hug relatives who are near ...

In 1973, British photographer Ken Griffiths "accidentally" witnessed great love and even greater loss. For the March issue of the Sunday Times magazine, he was preparing an unusual photo project, "In the English Garden," for which every month during the year he removed a couple from their home in East Sussex, England. In each picture, it is noticeable how one time of the year replaces another, as nature awakens in the spring and paints summer in bright colors, as a cheerful October turns into a fading November with torrential rain and a dank wind ... And only one invariably in the frame is Mr. Svitman on the left and Mrs. Svitman on the right, but only until the last eleventh photo ...

1. Beginning ...

2. There are still so many happy months ahead!

3. Mrs. Sweetman and Mr. Sweetman were looking forward to the new visit of the photographer!

4. A happy moment ...

5. Farewell to the summer.

6. Autumn - a time of warm encounters!

7. But Mr and Mrs. Swithman were still those dandies!

8. How touchingly Mr. Svitman holds an umbrella just above his beloved wife ...

9. Withering of nature, but not withering of feelings ...

10. And winters in East Sussex are not at all harsh ...

11. This month will be the last happy in their long family life.

12. The End.
