Electric Boilers

With the current level of development of modern civilization, the temporary lack of hot water for citizens is akin to the apocalypse. However, in country cottages, in the countryside and in the private sector, home owners have to take care of providing hot water on their own. There are several options, one of them is the installation and connection of an electric boiler for heating water.

How does an electric boiler work?

An electric boiler is a device used for autonomous supply of a home with hot water. There are two types of electroboilers: flow and storage, and the principle of their work is different.

The electric storage boiler has a special capacity, where cold water is drawn from the water supply system. When the user specifies a particular mode, the water is heated by the operation of a heating element - a heating element located inside the tank. It is he who converts electrical energy to heat. Special device - thermostat - switches off the electric boiler when the water in the tank reaches the desired temperature. When the water is cooled, the contactor again turns on the heating element.

Less than a decade ago there were electric boilers with so-called "dry" TEN placed in a special steatite flask, due to which the service life of the device is significantly increased.

The principle of the electric flowing water heater is somewhat different. The fact is that in the first place such devices do not have a capacity for water. When the tap is turned on, the water heats up when passing through the electric heater heater. Thanks to this, the device provides the house with a constant supply of hot water almost instantaneously.

How to choose an electric boiler?

Choosing an electric boiler for your home is necessary in view of their own needs, the features of housing and financial opportunities. Flow-through boilers are good in that they can heat an unlimited amount of water. However, the water temperature at the exit hardly reaches 60 degrees, more often 50-55 degrees. In addition, such devices, by virtue of their operation principle, are quite powerful (from 6 to 267 kW) in comparison with storage boilers (1.5-3 kW), which is fraught with considerable bills for electricity. Because of this power, a flowing electric boiler can be installed in a house where a gas cooker works. However, an undoubted advantage of this type of electric heater is its small size and instantaneous heating of water.

Among manufacturers of flow-through electric storage tanks, the products from Eletrolux, Timberk, AEG are popular. However, most often people prefer accumulating electric boilers. When choosing such an essential device, it is first of all important to consider the volume of the tank. Its values can range from 10 to 500 liters. Boilers with a volume of 10-30 liters are designed for installation near kitchen sinks for washing dishes and at the sink in a bath for washing hands. For a small family of 2-3 people choose a device with a tank capacity of 50-80 liters. If the house is a large family, she will need an electric boiler with a volume of 100 liters and above.

In addition, when choosing a storage boiler, pay attention to the method of attachment, which will allow you to install the device in such a way that you can save space in your house. There are:

In addition to the location of the tank, the boilers are horizontal and vertical.

Pay attention to the material from which the tank of the boiler is made. The strongest are stainless and titanium steel. Models with glass-ceramic and enamel coatings are not bad. Plastic containers are considered to be short-lived.

Most often, buyers choose their storage electric boilers from Electrolux, Ariston, Gorenje, Thermex, AEG and others.
