Breathing Yoga

When you choose yoga, you are guided by one or other of the considerations. Someone wants to lose weight, some gain weight, and some get healthier overall. But never expect from this ancient culture of movement and thinking of quick results. Whatever you want to achieve by practicing yoga, remember that the first step to the goal is breathing . We will tell you about the extraordinary role of breathing in yoga and, in particular, in our life.

Pranayama and prana-viyama: what's the difference?

For beginners, breathing yoga always carries one name - pranayama. But in fact, pranayama is yoga of the fourth degree, to which the ordinary beginner oh how far. Pranayama is a technique of delaying breathing. Due to this, yogis work with their bodies on the intracellular level, they heal, purify and regenerate cells.

Prana-vyamma are all breathing exercises without delay, which precede pranayama. This is a long preparatory stage, which must be completed before work begins with a delay. Breathing exercises can be found in the most popular hatha yoga.

The importance of respiratory yoga for our body

Perhaps the most terrible disease of the twentieth century is hypodynamia, that is, a pathological lack of motor activity. But hypodynamia leads not only to the direct growth of fat mass (in fact, some people can lead a sedentary lifestyle and even be slim, but not healthy), but also to violations in the digestive, nervous, circulatory system.

Here we come directly to the meaning of yoga for the respiratory system. Hypodinamy is the impetus to the development of a shortage of carbon dioxide in the body, which, as it turned out, we need not less than oxygen.

Carbon dioxide is responsible for the relaxation of the valves, which regulate the free flow of blood through the vessels. When CO2 is high, the valves are relaxed and blood flows freely through all tissues, feeding them. If CO2 is low, the valves tighten and force the blood to "go around" - skipping important tissues, blood that should have satiated us with oxygen, straight falls into the veins.

Because of this elementary failure, people begin to suffer from hypertension - an increase in pressure, which pulls a long string of all kinds of cardiovascular ailments.

Weight Loss

But, of course, until the diagnosis of hypertension is not delivered to us, we are only interested in the connection of respiratory yoga for weight loss .

And the connection is very simple: hypoxia (lack of O2, which occurs when breathing is delayed) in the tissues begins oxidation of the medium. And this acidic medium activates the production of enzymes and the very cleavage of fats.
