Fireplace in the apartment with your own hands

If you really want to make a fireplace in your apartment with your own hands, then the best option is to install either an eco-fireplace or an electric fireplace in a properly decorated niche, as this will create the illusion of a living fire, and you do not need to get a special permission to install an open fire source in residential building.

How to make a fireplace with your own hands in the apartment

1. First you need to choose exactly where the fireplace will be installed. For this, any smooth wall will do.
2. We hang a bracket on a wall in a certain place, for which the fireplace of a home fireplace in an apartment made by oneself will be hooked. We hang a firebox and, orienting on its width, we build around a portal from wooden boards, in our case - pine trees. With each other we fasten them with nails, and fix them to the wall with dowels. Do not forget to bring out the socket for the firebox on one of the bases of the portal.
3. We remove the decorative furnace and temporarily remove it. We close the front parts of the portal grounds.
4. We decorate the upper part with an old wooden skirting board. Its edges should be cut at an angle of 45 degrees and glued together. Plinth skirting boards are glued to the base of the portal.
5. Also we fasten the decor elements to the side and front surfaces of the fireplace portal. Grind all the edges, glaze the putty with irregularities and nail heads.

Decorating a fireplace in a city apartment with their own hands

Now you need to decorate our decorative portal a little.

1. We make a wall surface, located behind the furnace. For this you can use any materials: artificial stone, tiles. In our case, this is a film with imitation of brickwork.
2. We paint the portal with white paint.
