Fireproof partitions

In order to suspend the spread of the fire for a certain time and to allow people to evacuate from the premises in time, and possibly to save some property, fireproof partitions are used.

For the manufacture of fire barriers use the following materials:

Requirements for fire barriers

In accordance with regulatory documents, the design of fire barriers must be made of non-combustible materials. If wood is used, it must be deeply impregnated with flame retardants from all sides. Gypsum boards must have a non-flammable framework of fire resistance of seventy-five minutes for partitions of the first type and forty-five minutes for partitions of the second type.

Fireproof partition made of bricks

These partitions belong to fire protection fences, which have refractory properties and hold fire for a certain time. Fireproof partitions made of bricks are the standard and simplest kind of barrier that protects neighboring rooms on its floor from fire and penetration of harmful combustion products. Installation of brick partitions must be carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents, such as SNiPs (Building Norms and Rules): SNiP 21-01-97 and SNiP 2.01.02-85 "Fire safety of buildings and structures." Incorrect installation of such structures can lead to unforeseen consequences.

Modern fireproof glass partitions have a glass thickness of thirty millimeters and more, but at the same time practically one hundred percent of sunlight passes through.

Experts recommend that apart from the partitions, install fireproof doors with anti-panic fittings in the building. This measure will significantly increase the chances of rescuing people during a fire.

Fireproof translucent partitions are a fireproof profile glazed with several layers of heat resistant glass. The profile of the partitions can be steel and aluminum. As well as other types of partitions, translucent partitions are of the first and second types. Each type has its own fire resistance limit in time. The first type is 45 minutes, the second - 15 minutes. The most reliable - partitions with a steel profile - the limit of durability to one hundred and twenty minutes.
