Folding table with own hands

How often there is a need for a small table, but it is simply not possible to place it in a room. Not surprisingly, folding furniture is in such demand. And many things can be made realistically. We suggest you to build a small folding table with your own hands from quite accessible materials.

Folding table of wood with own hands

For work, we need the workpiece for the countertop, wooden boards for making the legs of the table. We will collect the frame of the table by the so-called invisible method, when the fasteners are hidden in the holes.

1. We will start the assembling of the folding wooden table with our own hands from the legs. It will be all known system of the book, when at opening of two lateral parts the compact pedestal turns to the big table-top.
2. This is how the method of assembly with blind holes for fastening looks.
3. The diagrams below show the process of assembling the base of our folding table with our own hands. First we collect the two side parts, then we connect them together by jumpers.
4. Next, go to the assembly of the sliding system. These are two parts in the form of a frame. They are attached to the side racks by means of loops.
5. Now we need to assemble the countertop of a small folding table made by our own hands. It will be three details: an average small width equal to the width of the base, as well as two additional folding ones. Between each other we connect these parts of the table top with loops. At the bottom, we set up iron staples to connect to the base.
6. The photo below shows the loops and their location. As you can see, the completely classical version of the table that each of us had at home. When opening the side parts of the folding table, assembled with our own hands, we get a stand for additional parts of the countertop.
7. But we are only halfway there. Now you need to make the inside more functional. For this, we also attach a board to one of the jumpers. Please note: its width is slightly smaller, this reserve is left for stacking the shelf, so that everything will be level.
8. Now you have extra space for storing things. It is most convenient to install a basket on the shelf and thus get something like a functional box.
9. In our case, a folding wooden table made by own hands became the workplace of the needlewoman. However, it can also be adapted to the duty option for guests and various family events.
