Temples of Yekaterinburg

The Church of the Ascension in Yekaterinburg

This temple is located on Ascension Square. It was built of wood in 1770. A few years later it was built from stone in two floors: the first in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, and the second - the Ascension of the Lord. Over time, it expanded, gradually to it was added 4 more aisle and a new porch. After the revolution in 1926, it was closed down, and it was restored only in 1991.

Temple of Alexander Nevsky in Yekaterinburg

This cathedral is built on the territory of the Novo-Tikhvinsky convent. It was laid in 1838. From 1930 to 1992 there were no services here. The main shrines are the cancer with particles of relics and the Tikhvin icon of the Blessed Virgin.

Temple of Seraphim of Sarov in Yekaterinburg

It is a relatively young temple. It was laid in 2006, was built of red brick. The maximum height is 32 meters (bell tower). A distinctive feature of the interior is the use of bright colors when painting walls.

The Church of St. Nicholas in Yekaterinburg

Temple on blood

It is one of the largest in the city. It was built in 2003, as a sign of the memory of the execution of the royal family, at the place where it happened. On the territory of the temple even a Romanov monument with a list of their names is installed.

Holy Trinity Cathedral

It is considered the main church of the city. It was built in 1818. But, like many other holy places in the city, it was looted and closed in 1930. In 1995, the restoration work began, which ended in 2000. It is here that the icon of the Great Martyr Catherine with a part of her relics is located, and visiting icons are exhibited.
