Games for the attention of preschoolers

In this article, we will talk about the development of children of such vital quality as attention. Probably, we do not need to explain that we need attention not only for getting new knowledge in the school and institute, but also for performing ordinary everyday activities. Agree, not having enough concentration and switching attention, people simply can not, for example, cross the road.

To develop attention in children is possible and necessary from an early age. It is recommended to do this with the help of the game and interesting, fun exercises for the child. Playing, children quickly learn, so if you and your child devote a little time every day to developing attention games, progress will not take long.

Games for children's attention should be diverse and aimed at developing different properties of attention: concentration, stability, selectivity, distribution, switchability and arbitrariness. We offer you a few examples of games and exercises to improve some of the properties of attention.

Moving games to attention

  1. "Zoo" (contributes to the development of switchability and distribution of attention). The host includes music. While the music is playing, the children are walking in a circle, as if walking around the zoo. Then the music fades, and the leader screams the name of any animal. Children should "stop at the cage" and portray this animal. For example, with the word "hare" - start jumping, with the word "zebra" - "hoof", etc. The game is more fun in a group of children, but it can be played with one child.
  2. "Edible-inedible" (a known game for almost any age, developing concentration and switching of attention). One participant pronounces the word he has conceived and throws the ball to another. If the word means an edible object, you need to catch the ball, if it's inedible, you can not catch it. You can play this game together and keep score, and you can play a group, on a knockout (this is a complicated option, since no one knows in advance who will be thrown the ball).
  3. "Vegetables-fruit" (develops selectivity and switchability of attention). The leader calls out the names of the vegetables and fruits, the children-participants should sit down at the word meaning the vegetable, and jump at the word meaning the fruit. The themes of the named items can be different (beast-birds, shrub-trees), conditional movements - too (clap hands, raise hands up, etc.).

Games for the development of auditory attention

  1. The "spoiled phone" is a simple and well-known game for the development of auditory attention. The guessed word is transmitted in a whisper to the ear in a circle, until it returns to the guessing player, or on the line (then the last player loudly utters the word).
  2. "A cow with a bell" . Children are in a circle, leading with blindfolds is in the center. The children pass the bell to each other, ringing it. Then, at the command of an adult: "A bell is not audible!" A child who has a bell in his hands stops ringing. To the adult's question: "Where is the cow?" The guide should point out the direction from which the last time he heard the ringing.
  3. "We listen to the words . " It is necessary to agree in advance with the child (children) that the leading (adult) will utter a variety of words, among which will be found, for example, the names of animals. The child must clap his hands when he hears these words. You can change the theme of the given words and the movement that the child must perform during the game, and also complicate the game, combining 2 or more themes and, accordingly, movements.
  4. "The nose-floor-ceiling . " The leader calls in different order words: nose, floor, ceiling and makes the appropriate movements: touches his finger to the nose, shows the ceiling and the floor. Children repeat movements. Then the presenter begins to confuse the children: he continues to say the words, and the movements to do it right, then wrong (for example, when the word "nose" shows in the ceiling, etc.). Children should not get off and display correctly.

Concentration and sustainability exercises

  1. "Ladoshki . " The players sit in a row or in a circle and put their hands on the neighbors' knees (the right one on the left knee of the neighbor on the right, the left one on the right knee of the neighbor on the left). It is necessary to quickly raise and lower your hands in order (to "run through the wave"). Not at the right time, your hands are out of the game.
  2. "Snowball . " The first participant to pronounce a word on a given topic or without it. The second participant must first say the word of the first player, then - his own. The third is the words of the first and second player and then their own, etc. A series of words grows like a snowball. Exercise is more interesting to perform in a group of children, but it is possible and together, adding words one by one.
