Even if the pet never goes out and is kept exclusively in the indoor environment, this will not guarantee that you will not encounter a number of diseases that are provoked by worms . They can get into the pet's body through food (especially when an improper heat treatment mode is selected), on your shoes or in some other way. One of the most popular means of worms today is drontal for dogs.

The drug is available in tablets. It is given one time together with a small amount of food. As a rule, problems do not arise, but if the animal refused to take the medicine, it is necessary to act in a different way.
Drontal for dogs are given forcibly: a suspension is prepared or placed under the tongue. To prepare the suspension, the tablet is triturated. Then the powder is diluted in 10 ml of water and immediately given to the pet. Do not leave the finished solution or do it in advance. Once the suspension is ready, it must be shaken and injected with a syringe with a catheter. In this case, consider that for each kilogram of weight of the dog account for 1 ml of the finished solution.
Before using drontal for dogs, always consult a specialist. This preparation has a special form for puppies and young individuals. Drontal junior is used not only to treat helminths in puppies, but also for prevention, starting at the age of two weeks. As in the first case, for each kilogram of the puppy, 1ml of the preparation is in diluted form. Each push of the dispenser corresponds to 1ml, the suspension must be injected directly into the mouth of the pet. Mixing with food is allowed.

The amount of medication administered depends only on the weight of the dog:
- body weight 0.8-1.9 kg - the dose is a quarter of the tablet;
- weight 2-5 kg - dose is half the tablet;
- weight 6-10 kg - the dose is one tablet;
- weight 11-20 kg (for medium-sized rocks) - the dose is two tablets;
- weight 21-30 kg - a dose of three tablets;
- weight 30-40 kg (for large breeds) - four tablets;
- weight 41-50 kg - five tablets.
Drontal for dogs: rules of application and the principle of action
If the dosage of drontal for dogs is observed correctly, problems should not arise. In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur when the pass is sensitive to the components of the drug.
The composition includes praziquantel and pyrantel-embonate. The first component is almost immediately absorbed by the parasites through the surface and completely distributed along it. As a result, there is a severe damage to the outer shell and paralysis of the parasite. The second component, like nicotine, leads to spastic paralysis of nematodes.
For prevention, deworming is carried out every quarter. Be sure to give the pet Drontal if you are going to vaccinate it or mate.
