Gypsy costume with your own hands

Every mom wants her child to be the most beautiful at the carnival evening. The original outfit for the girl will be a bright and elegant gypsy costume, which any mom can sew by her own hands.

How to sew a gypsy costume with your own hands?

Traditional gypsy costume implies the presence of a long and fairly wide skirt, a bright blouse, colorful shawls and massive beads.

To tailor a gypsy carnival costume, you will need:

Skirt

1. For sewing a gypsy skirt you need to find two sun-flares. For this, we take two measurements - the waist circumference and the intended length of the skirt (do not forget that there will be a frill at the bottom of the skirt). Calculate the radius of the opening for the waist: R = OT / 2P, where OT is the waist circumference, and II is a constant value of 3.14.

Example: 54 cm / (2x3.14) = 8.6 cm.

Since we need two sun-flares, we divide the radius by 2, that is, 8.6 cm / 2 = 4.3 cm.

Next, to the resulting radius, add the length of the skirt without frills.

Example: 4.3 cm + 70 cm = 74.3 cm.

2. We make a skirt pattern for the gypsy costume and transfer it to the fabric.

3. Then carefully, that the fabric does not move, cut out the pattern. We should have two cuts of fabric of 150 cm. Then we sew all the parts of the skirt.

Frill

  1. To begin with, we calculate the perimeter of two circles of our skirt according to the formula P = 2RR, where R is the length of the skirt.
  2. Example: 2x3.1470 cm = 440 cm. Do not forget that we have two "suns", so 440 cmx2 = 880 cm.
  3. Thus, the length of the frills is 880 cmx2 = 1760 cm, ie approximately 18 m. So, we should get 6 strips of 3 m, width 22 cm from black chiffon, and 6 bands of 3 m, width 17 cm from colored fabric.
  4. Sew the strip with a seam stitch into two rings of 18 m, and then trim the oblique bake.
  5. Now you need to take your frills. Fold the stripes (black down, color up) and plot the line from the front side, having deviated from the edge 1-2 cm.
  6. Next, carefully distribute the frills along the edge of the skirt and sew them on the typewriter.

Belt

  1. We cut out a strip, slightly longer than the waist and width under your elastic. We sew the belt to the skirt, leaving a hole for inserting the rubber bands.

The skirt is ready! Now it remains to figure out how to sew the top for the gypsy costume.

Top

  1. From the remnants of colored fabric, we cut out a rectangle whose width is equal to 2 girths of the waist, and then completely we spread it with a bobbin gum.
  2. From the remnants of colored and black fabric, we cut 2 strips for a ruche, approximate length of 1.5 m, and we edged it with an oblique bake. Next we sew the ruches with each other so that you can insert the elastic.
  3. Now sew (you can manually) ruches to top and everything is ready!

As you can see, sewing a gypsy costume with your own hands is easy enough and fast, it is necessary to supplement it with a bright shawl, appropriate accessories and makeup.

With your own hands, you can create other images, sew a suit of snowflakes or butterflies .
