Breadbasket from newspaper tubes

Weaving breadcrumbs from newspaper tubes is a fascinating process, but time-consuming. But the result is worth it! In our MK the technique of weaving an oval bread crumb from newspaper tubes is described in detail. So, let's get started.

We will need:

  1. Before starting the weaving of a breadbasket, several dozen tubes are to be made from newspapers. To do this, divide the newspaper into separate sheets, then wind each sheet from the corner with a wooden skewer. Corner the last coil with glue, wait until it dries, and gently remove the skewer. Nothing complicated, but the process is rather monotonous.
  2. Now lay six tubes horizontally and eight vertically. We twine eight tubes together in pairs, and we begin to weave them in a circle, forming the bottom of the breadbox. If the length of the tube is not enough, extend it by gluing another tube to the end. To make it more convenient to work, attach the tubes with clothespins to the cardboard substrate. After the eighth-tenth coil, you can transfer the product to a metal mold, attaching it with clothespins. Continue weaving to the edge of the mold.
  3. When the height of the sides is the same as you planned, fix the ends of the tubes, passing them into the loops formed by the neighboring tubes. Similarly, weave the bread pan cover. But its size should be slightly smaller than the size of the breadbasket itself. If desired, decorate the lid with a handle. To make the new breadbasket more attractive, you can paint it, and then cover it with a clear varnish. Particularly impressive is the color of natural wood. This treatment prolongs the life of a piece of paper. In addition, the process of cleaning bread from crumbs will be much simpler.
