Swans from bottles of bottles

It is unlikely that there is such a mistress who would not like to decorate her garden with unusual garden sculptures of swans. The obstacle to buying such garden ornaments in most cases is their considerable price. But in fact it is absolutely not necessary to buy in the store something that is easy to make by yourself from improvised materials. In order to settle on your home plot of beautiful and graceful swans you need a little: a little bit of imagination, inspiration and free time. In our master class we will demonstrate how you can make your own hands garden sculptures in the form of a swan from a conventional plastic bottle, which there are many in any house. We will do not just sculpture-decoration, but a useful thing in the household, because our swan can be used as a flower pot.

Swan-pot from a plastic bottle

To make a swan for the garden, we will need:

Making a swan from plastic bottles:

  1. The basis for our swan is a five-liter capacity. It will be used as its torso and a place for installing a pot with a flower. To do this, we mark on it the marker of the cut line.
  2. Cut off the top part of the bottle, leaving the neck connected to the lower part, after all, it will be the place for fixing the neck of the swan.
  3. As a neck for our swan, use a piece of hose with a rigid wire inside.
  4. We will put the neck-hose in the bottle through the neck. Give the neck a characteristic swan bend and fix it on the lower part of the trunk with the help of a wire. Thus, the procurement for the future snow-white handsome swan is ready.
  5. Now we make the plumage of a swan from dairy plastic bottles. To do this, each bottle needs to cut the bottom and neck.
  6. We cut the milk bottle into 4-5 parts and give each part the shape of the pen.
  7. We cut the sharp parts of the feathers with fringe, for convenience, after having done the marking with a marker.
  8. To make the feathers look as natural as possible, they need to give a curved and rounded shape. To do this, heat them over the candle from the outside.
  9. We connect feathers, suitable in shape and size, in pairs by wire. We shall decorate with feathers a trunk of a swan, also using for their fastening a wire.
  10. To decorate the neck of milk bottles, cut the bottom and cut into 4-5 feathers, leaving them connected at the neck. How many bottles we will need will depend on how long the neck is. In our case, they needed 16 pieces. To fix the topmost bottle, in the whole construction (bottle and hose-base) we make a through hole, through which we extend the fixing wire. We put the lid on the bottle. Now proceed to the last strokes in the manufacture of crafts swan made of plastic bottles. We attach the beak to the swan: for this purpose it is possible to use a suitably shaped cap from a bottle with household chemicals. We fix the cap in two (letter M), insert it into the lid from the milk bottle and glue the cover to the one that closes the fixing wire. Draw the eyes and paint the beak with waterproof paint. Our swan-pot is ready, it remains to find a suitable place for him in the garden and place there a favorite pot of flowers. And you can make for him a pond with water lilies from plastic bottles and place a frog made by yourself.
