Did you know that it is possible to make wonderful soft animals out of felt? These handicrafts are pleasant to the touch and very funny. We suggest you master the sewing of felt fabric on the example of manufacturing lamb.

How to make a lamb of felt - a master class

For work you will need a felt of three colors: white, light and dark brown, and also a thread of the corresponding shades. Prepare the necessary materials, and then take care of the pattern. Her template involves cutting out of paper or cardboard the following elements: head, "hair", ears, trunk, claw, nose and tail lamb. The size of the details depends on the desired dimensions of the future toy of felt.

Performance:

1. So, we cut out the listed patterns for the lamb from felt: the ears should have 4 parts, and all the rest - 2, and only 1 piece is needed for the spout.
2. Using a pattern, draw out the contours of these elements on the fabric and gently cut them out. One of the main advantages of felt before other types of fabrics is that it does not "pour". That is why felt toys are so easily sewn.
3. Let's start with the design of the head lamb. First, sew to it with a spout (this requires only 2-3 stitches), and then embroider a smiling mouth. In principle, if desired, you can also sew a spout with threads.
4. Now you need to connect two parts of the head: lay them on top of each other so that the muzzle of the lamb with a ready nose and mouth is on top. Then sew the elements with a suture along the edge. If the toy is large, it can be done on the machine using a zig-zag or an overhanging seam. If you plan to make lamb or sheep from miniature felt, it will be easier to perform all the seams by hand.
5. Put a little filler inside the head (it can be holofayber or sintepon) and sew the part to the end. Note that the felt toys are sewn on the front side, which means that all the nodes will be visible. Therefore, place the beginning and end of the seam where they will be later closed with other parts.
6. The eyes are represented by two black beads. If it is good to pull the thread, the beads tightly press the fabric, and on it formed a small groove. With this technique, you can make the animal's muzzle more expressive.
7. With the ears come in the same way as with the details of the head in point 6, with the only difference that they should not be filled.
8. Now you need to connect the head to the ears. Gently sew them at the intersections, as shown in the photo. Seams should be located behind. At this stage, you can decorate the lamb with a ribbon bow and a miniature bell.
9. We proceed to fabricate the trunk. Prepare two identical pieces of white felt.
10. Sew them together with the same wrapping seam using white thread.
11. To the bottom of the legs, sew a hoof of brown felt.
12. Now it's time to combine the finished parts of the product. Sew a lamb's head on the trunk, passing the needle through and through.
13. Ugly seams and nodules, we hide under the "hair" lamb. To do this, cut out two pieces of white felt that look like a cloud. Try on where they will be located.
14. Gently sew the front part, and then the back. Here's how they should look.
15. At the back, fix the eyelet so that the toy can be suspended, for example, on a Christmas tree or used as a key fob.
16. Here you can make very nice cutlery of felt with your own hands. Similarly, using different templates, you can make a figure of any other animal.
