Interpretation of the runes

Today the passion for runes has become quite common. They are guessing, with their help make up various amulets and amulets. True, this is often done without understanding one very simple truth - secret knowledge (and the runes are just as much part of it as the tarot or astrology) does not open "from the swoop," and therefore you can practice runic magic only after several years of thoughtful study. But if the theme of runes attracts you incredibly, then you better use them for fortune telling, there are fewer opportunities to harm your careless actions.

Interpretation of Scandinavian runes in fortune-telling

In Scandinavia and England, the runes existed in several variants, for magical purposes only the older futarkas were used, then the younger futark was formed from them, but in magic these runes were not used, although some modern mediums and wizards use them in their practices. The ancient signs of the runes underwent a lot of changes, each nationality adapted them to their needs, there were even special runes for calendars - day and runes, having astrological interpretation.

We will be interested only in the signs of the runes of the senior futark and their interpretation. In total, such runes are 24, for some spreads an additional 25 empty runes are used, its interpretation in divination is reduced to suspense, the Gods do not want to give an answer to a question or you are waited by unexpected development of events. In certain cases, you need to pay attention to the position of the rune.

Direct position (points to the North, Niflheim) refers to events occurring in the present tense, an inverted position (points to the South, Muspelheim) will tell about the moments in the present that are hidden from the view of the observer, the rune pointing to the right (East, Jotunheim) speaks of future, and the rune directed to the left (West, Vanaheim) will report on the events of the past. There are interpretations of the direct and reverse position of the runes, the reversed signs almost always have the opposite meaning to the interpretation of the direct sign. True, there are some signs that do not have an inverted position, for example the rune Isa has only one interpretation. The reverse situations also do not have the runes Soulu, Dagaz, Gebo, Nautiz, Hagalaz, Hyer and Eyvaz. It is worth remembering that the interpretation of the runes for divination and their meaning in terms of magical practice vary.

Interpretation of the Slavic runes in fortune-telling

Little is known about the Slavic runes, and some researchers even claim that they are only modified Scandinavian signs, not taking into account the fact that the Slavs had a written language long before the date of the appearance of the Scandinavian runes attributed to it by historians. Although, perhaps, only the adaptation of the Scandinavian runes really has reached us, and incomplete, since the main Slavic runes are 18, and in the senior futarke 24 characters.

However, the Slavic runes can also be used for fortune telling. But the information on them is extremely scarce, and therefore, wishing to clarify the situation will have to seriously consider the meaning of each rune, literally "let it through." Regarding the meaning of the position of the Slavic runes, the information is also very fragmented, some researchers believe that the Slavs did not have a separation between the direct and the reverse position of the runes. But the more common is the view that the reverse position has the opposite meaning to the direct interpretation, and also points to the difficulties (obstacles) in the execution of the conceived, the nature of the obstacles is hidden in the meaning of the rune. For example, the rune Wind means spiritual self-improvement, climbing to the top. Consequently, its inverted position can mean that a person has lost himself, refused to self-development (or something prevents him from doing it), suffers need or failure. A great influence will be rendered by the runes that have appeared side by side.

Some runologists are inclined to interpret runes, to associate them with astrological houses. But until the researchers found an exact match (like the older Tarot arcana, for example) runes and planets. Therefore, for divination, this moment is not taken into account.
