Interstitial uterine myoma

In recent years, more and more young couples face difficulties in conceiving children. Disorders of the reproductive function become common in a society phenomena. In this article, we will talk about one of the most common female diseases - interstitial myomas.

Myoma of the uterus (interstitial form)

Myoma of the body of the uterus (interstitial form) - is a benign uterine body formation consisting of smooth muscle tissues, in which, in due course, due to tissue hypoxia (lack of oxygen saturation), fibrotic processes begin. In addition to increasing the number of reported cases, doctors also note a marked "rejuvenation" of the disease - more and more often, fibroids are diagnosed in young women and girls. The interpretation of this phenomenon is twofold: some doctors insist that the cause is the unfavorable ecological conditions of the modern world and the massive spread of "aggressive" therapeutic and diagnostic methods in obstetrics (abortion, laparoscopy, diagnostic curettage, etc.). Another part of the specialists is sure that the main reason for the deterioration of statistics is the improvement of diagnostic capabilities in modern medicine, which allows us to identify a greater percentage of diseases than before.

The risk of fibroids increases when:

Interstitial uterine myoma and pregnancy

Interstitial myomas can cause a number of complications, one of which is infertility. According to medical statistics, about 20% of women with uterine myoma are infertile. Additional difficulties are caused by the fact that the causes of infertility in uterine myoma are not fully understood. Many women, long suffering from this disease, safely nurse and give birth to children, while others experience multiple abnormalities during pregnancy, including interruption, bleeding, placental abruption or fetal necrosis.

Most often, if the nodes of myoma are small, pregnancy proceeds without any problems. In such cases, the method of labor (natural delivery or caesarean section) is selected individually. Most experts are sure that a pregnant woman with uterine myoma should be hospitalized for 36-39 weeks to conduct a survey and choose the most suitable method of delivery.

Interstitial uterine myoma: treatment

Depending on the degree of severity of the disease and its form, there are several methods of treatment:

  1. Conservative therapy. Physiotherapeutic procedures, vitamin therapy and medicines are prescribed.
  2. Operative treatment (surgical operation).
  3. Combined. Combines the methods described above.

The choice of adequate treatment depends on the number and size of myoma nodes, the age of the patient, her wishes, the form and severity of the disease, the presence of concomitant or chronic disorders of the body.
