Michael Fowler Center

The center of Michael Fowler is the main musical center of Wellington , a modern replacement for the out-of-date town hall. The building is named after a talented New Zealand architect, who later became mayor of the city. Occupying this important post, he actively promoted the idea of building a new concert hall. And finally, in 1975, two well-known architects, Warren and Mahony were entrusted to develop the project. Five years later, the construction of a music center began, and already in 1983 on September 16 a grand opening was held. Then they decided to give the name of Michael Fowler.
