More recently, all the available ways of finishing the ceiling were whitewash, water-emulsion and wallpaper. Today in the arsenal of designers there are many more options - tension, mirror , stained glass, glass, plasterboard, ceilings, paneled. We will talk about the latter method.
Variants of panels for a ceiling in a room
The most common way of finishing the ceiling, say, in the bathroom, are plastic panels. In the ratio of "price-quality" this option is a win-win. At a small cost, such a ceiling looks very presentable.
Choose panels of calm tones that do not irritate and visually increase the height of the room. Do not confuse PVC ceiling panels with wall panels. The main difference between them is in weight: the wall panels are heavier than the ceiling panels. Accordingly, the ceiling of the PVC panels in the room is more fragile, so in the process of work you need to be careful.
Another option is the ceiling in the bathroom of aluminum panels. They are also durable, do not burn out, do not deform, are not afraid of moisture and temperature changes.
Decorating the ceiling of the room with plastic panels
When planning a ceiling design in a room with PVC panels, you need to decide on their required quantity. To do this, you need to know the ceiling area, since it needs to be divided into the area of one panel (this figure is usually indicated on the package). Be sure to add 15% to the trim at the edges and other allowances "just in case".
In addition to the panels, you need to calculate the number of metal profiles under the mount. To do this, draw a diagram of the ceiling with all the necessary lines of the profile. The distance between them should be approximately 60 cm. Note that on the perimeter of the room you need more rigid profiles.
And, of course, you need self-tapping screws, dowels and a ceiling skirting board for finishing.
