Partition of plasterboard with their own hands

Quite often during repair, designers are faced with the problem of zoning space. Due to modern technologies and competent specialists, this issue is solved quite simply. And if you are planning to do repairs yourself, then it's best to solve such problems with the help of drywall. This material is easy to use and is quite affordable in terms of pricing policy. It is quite possible for a layman to make a decorative partition with his own hands.

Solid partitions in the room with their own hands

  1. For work we will need sheets of plasterboard. Prepare a double amount. The fact is that the partition will be plastered on both sides, so we multiply the necessary area by two.
  2. To build the structure, we need a screwdriver, screws, profile (its width depends on the width of the structure itself).
  3. First, chalk the place where there will be a partition of gypsum board with their own hands. Then drill the necessary holes for fixing.
  4. On the perimeter fasten the frame. For work we take a drill and a drill with concrete with a winning tip.
  5. Further along the entire length we calculate the number of vertical racks.
  6. With the help of screws we attach the frame parts. To ensure that the structure is reliable and sufficiently stable, we additionally connect its parts with screws.
  7. Further, insulating material should be laid between the profiles. It will provide the necessary noise insulation and strength of the structure. The result is a full wall, which can be safely pasted with wallpaper.
  8. By using the self-tapping screws that were used to join the frame parts, we will attach the gypsum board to the profile frame.
  9. After all sheets have been fixed, it is possible to work out the places of joints and fasteners with putty.
  10. The partitions in the room with their own hands will last for a long time if all the work is done correctly and high-quality materials are used.

How to make a decorative partition with your own hands?

Often the division of space does not pursue the goals of making two rooms out of one room. As a rule, this is purely formal zoning. Also, such decorative partitions fit perfectly in place of the traditional bookshelf .

  1. In this case, the decorative partition with its own hands will have a height of the order of 2 m, the width will be equal to the width of the bearing wall - 25 cm. A profile of 5 cm width is suitable for such parameters.
  2. We mark the position of the construction on the floor and the wall with chalk. To do this, put the profile on the floor and circle it on both sides with chalk, and then retreat from the lines but 1.5 cm and attach the workpiece.
  3. We make the markings for the racks. We install vertical profiles and fix them to the walls of a horizontal self-tapping screw.
  4. In the same way, we form the remaining compartments of our partition.
  5. We establish temporary jumpers. Marking of niches and jumpers is done symmetrically. The first side is performed under the level, the second side by the corner.
  6. In order to provide additional rigidity of the structure, we use the reinforcements in the form of additional joints of profiles by web bridges and gypsum board strips.
  7. We will sew the frame by the width of the structure. From one side from below we establish the whole sheet, and the top one is cut. On the reverse side, on the contrary. After oh, as all niches are cut, you can sew the ends of the remains.
  8. Throughout the perimeter, an additional stapler fixes the perforated corner.
  9. The last stage of making the partition of gypsum board with their own hands will be putty. First we apply a layer of reinforcing putty, then after drying the finish layer.
