Features of plaster works on wood

Previously, for plaster on wood, including facade, used solutions based on clay, straw. Now for the same purpose, lime-plaster mixtures are often used. It should be used only for interior decoration. The same solution can be mixed with the color to obtain the finish plaster. To improve the decorative properties after complete drying, you can grate the surface with glue CMC and mastic based on wax.

It is most reliable to use special ready-mixed or universal gypsum plasters: good adhesion, shrinkage is minimal. Reinforcing mesh and priming of the wall is mandatory.

Plaster for wood for outdoor use

Facade plaster for exterior woodwork begins with preparatory work. All the cracks should be covered with mineral wool or cottonwood. If the house from logs has essentially given a shrinkage, there were big cracks, hammer rejki. The solution can not be applied to the "bare" walls. Previously, a grid is fastened to the working area, most often it is lathing: wooden slats (width 2 cm, thickness 0.5 cm) in 5 cm increments, angle 45 degrees to the floor. Then another layer of the same rails is superposed perpendicular to the first one. Beacons are installed, the plaster layer is not less than 1.5-2 cm from the top layer of the drani. It is more convenient to start work from the corner of the wall.

The walls are sprayed with a more liquid solution, you can add some PVA glue, a layer about 1 cm - in order to fill the cavity of the drana. Instead of such a wooden "crate" you can use a metal mesh.

The external plaster on the wood , smoothly, like the inner plaster, ends with trowelling and smoothing. This requires foam or wooden floats. All pits, hillocks are cleaned, the surface is flat. Further, the finish finish layer may follow.
