Modern bedside tables for TV most often made of chipboard, plastic with metal and glass. Self-made production will require certain skills, but the television stand with your own hands will turn out to be unusual.
How to make a bedside table for a TV?
There are quite a few kinds of bedside tables under the TV. We offer the option of a traditional stand with a shelf for the console.
- Everything begins with the drawing of the nightstand under the TV. On the sheet of a paper it is necessary to draw a sketch of a table-top.
- Then we transfer it to a chipboard sheet or something like that.
- According to the size of the nightstand under the TV from the bar we cut out the boards of the required length.
- We glue the workpieces together.
- Next, we cut out two such blanks.
- With the help of an electric jig we cut out the figured edges of the blanks. Leave a couple of mm on the allowances.
- Apply the template from the chipboard to the workpiece and process the shaped edge using a hand mill with a special cutter.
- The photo shows the edge before and after treatment.
- To ensure that our product does not lag behind modern TV tables for quality, we must carefully clean the edges with a belt sanding machine.
- It remains to treat the edge of this kind of milling cutter.
- This is how the finished part looks. We need three such pieces.
- By the template (manufactured in a familiar way) we cut out such supporting parts and attach them to the glue. The photo shows the main part of the lower shelf.
- While the glue will dry up, we will additionally fix the parts with screws.
- Type of shelf after layer of stain.
- According to the chosen height of the nightstand under the TV, we cut out the details for the doors. We also process them with milling cutters.
- We assemble parts of the door already with glass using joinery glue.
- Cut out their wood decorative parts and glue them to the glass with epoxy.
- From the chipboard, we set the walls cut according to the size of the bedside table under the TV.
- Next, we collect all the parts in one piece.
- The bedside table is ready for the TV!
